Fellowship program
Welcome to our Pediatric Emergency Fellowship
We would like to introduce you to our program and convince you that
this training can meet your goal to become a well-rounded pediatric
emergentologist Pediatric emergency medicine (PEM) is a relatively
new subspecialty in pediatrics despite the fact that pediatricians
and family doctors have practiced it since the beginning of
medicine. Our subspecialty has come a long way in the last decade,
consolidating itself and developing it own identity away from
general pediatrics. In fact, the College of Physicians and Surgeons
of Canada has recently, in 2000, granted it subspecialty status in
Canada, thanks to the hard work of some of its pioneers.
At Ste-Justine's hospital and Montreal University, the PEM program
began in earnest in 1996 when a few residents from our program
returned from fellowships in PEM elsewhere.
Since then we have not stopped forming high quality pediatric
emergency physicians and we continue to attract well trained and
motivated full time ED staff.
Hence, we invite you to browse our site. Discover the highlights of
our program, our curriculum and various rounds and teaching.

programme and the available financing options. Finally, get to know
us better: learn about various staff and fellow professional
interests.
